From a Boston lobby to 180+ countries. Monthly writing on what's working, what's failing, and what I'm learning building a SaaS company for Main Street.
I'm Chris Dukich. I founded Display NOW in 2019 from a lobby in Boston, after a Raspberry Pi I was using to run our prototype kept crashing. The HOA in my building couldn't get anyone to read its emails, and I thought a visual communication tool might help. I looked at what was on the market and didn't see anything that fit small businesses. So I built it.
Today: 1,200 customers, 180 countries, 5,000+ screens. We give small and medium businesses the same digital signage technology Target and Walmart have run for decades.
buildWithChris is where I write about the work. Not the polished, "we are pleased to announce" version. The real one — what's working, what's failing, and what I'm learning. I keep it honest because that's the only version I think is worth your inbox.
I want to be honest about what shows up in your inbox. Here's the deal.
Once a month, I'll send a recap of what happened at Display NOW. What's working. What's failing. What I'm changing. Real lessons from running a SaaS company in real time. This is the core thing I'm committing to.
Sometimes I'll send a longer piece — on the AI workforce experiment, on Main Street, on what it actually takes to build something. No fixed schedule. Only when there's a real thing worth writing.
One email a month from someone actually building. Born in a lobby. Built for Main Street.
